DRAXIS Health Inc. announced that it intends to defend itself vigorously against a statement of claim filed today against it and Deprenyl Animal Health, Inc. ("DAHI DAHI Deck Aft High "), its wholly-owned subsidiary, by the University of Toronto Research at the University of Toronto has been responsible for the world's first electronic heart pacemaker, artificial larynx, single-lung transplant, nerve transplant, artificial pancreas, chemical laser, G-suit, the first practical electron microscope, the first cloning of T-cells, .

The University of Toronto is contesting the validity of the assignment of certain Anipryl(R) related patents made to DAHI almost 10 years ago. The University of Toronto is claiming CDN (Content Delivery Network) A system of distributed content on a large intranet or the public Internet in which copies of content are replicated and cached throughout the network. $100 million in damages.

This statement of claim follows a notice of arbitration served on DAHI by University of Toronto Innovations Foundation earlier this week.

DRAXIS considers all of University of Toronto's claims to be entirely without merit and has referred the matter to outside legal counsel.
