:DAX.) announced today that Dr. Richard Flanagan has been named President of its radiopharmaceutical radiopharmaceutical /ra·dio·phar·ma·ceu·ti·cal/ (-fahr?mah-soo´ti-k'l) a radioactive pharmaceutical, nuclide, or other chemical used for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.  subsidiary, DRAXIMAGE Inc., succeeding Ray Dore who has elected, after heading the company for many years, to retire as President effective September 1, 2001.

Mr. Dore will continue to serve as a special advisor to the President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of parent company DRAXIS Health on a full time basis to the end of 2001 and thereafter on a reduced schedule.

Dr. Richard Flanagan, currently Executive Vice President, has been with DRAXIMAGE since its founding in July 1997 and has served successively senior positions within the organization since 1980 when it was a division of Merck Frosst Canada. Prior to joining Merck Frosst, Dr. Flanagan served as an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Alberta. Dr. Flanagan is the author of thirty scientific papers and an inventor on twelve patents. Dr. Flanagan obtained his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Alberta and a B.Sc. from the University College, Dublin, Ireland. He is a Killam Fellow and received the Hugh Ryan Memorial Gold Medal gold medal
