DR. WILLIAM SCHULER JOINS BDM FEDERAL TO DIRECT BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT IN ALBUQUERQUE

MCLEAN, Va., July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- BDM Federal, Inc. (BDM), has named Dr. William E. Schuler senior vice president, business development. Based at the company's Albuquerque, N.M., operations, Schuler will focus on BDM's new business development efforts in that area while supporting marketing across the full range of the company's business activities, according to Philip A. Odeen, president and CEO.
"Dr. Schuler brings us a long and distinguished record of accomplishment in both line management and marketing," Odeen said. "His approach to client service, his understanding of the technologies we are involved in and his marketing strengths are exceptional. We are very excited to have him on our team."
Schuler came to BDM from Coopers & Lybrand (C&L), where he had been partner-in-charge of its Northeast federal consulting practice since 1988. Schuler was instrumental in helping C&L win multimillion dollar government contracts, as well as establish and manage a major new office. Prior to C&L, he had been corporate vice president for three years at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), where he managed corporate development for the military sciences and information systems sector, Washington Operations. He joined SAIC after leading Systems Research Corporation for nine years, a consulting firm he established and built into a successful enterprise with a diverse client base. Schuler earlier had a distinguished 21-year career with the U.S. Air Force.
Schuler was awarded a Ph.D. degree in operations research from Purdue University. He is a U.S. Naval Academy graduate (BS, engineering science) and also holds an MS in industrial engineering from the University of Southern California.
"Dr. Schuler's extensive experience spans many federal agencies including Defense, Energy, Justice, Transportation, and their subsidiary organizations and will serve BDM well," Odeen said, "not just in Albuquerque but across the entire BDM organization."
