DR Systems Receives FDA Clearance to Add Digital Mammography to PACS; Breast Image Reading Now Available on Company's Integrated Enterprise RIS/PACS Solution.

SAN DIEGO -- DR Systems, Inc., announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cleared DR Systems' PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) for diagnostic reading of digital mammography breast images. As part of the DR Systems image diagnostic capability, mammography reading can now be integrated into the same RIS/PACS workflow efficiencies for patient image and information management, automated reporting, storage, archive, and Web-based distribution.

Based on DR Systems Release 6 software, the Dominator Diagnostic Workstation brings these capabilities to digital mammography:

--  Primary reading of digital mammography images

    --  Connectivity to any FDA cleared DICOM digital mammography
        device or mammography digitizer

    --  Image interpretation on commercially available FDA cleared
        monitors

    --  Viewing of digitized prior film mammograms for comparison
        purposes

    --  Comparison to US, MRI and other breast imaging studies

    --  Utilize DR Systems' highly efficient filtering/worklist
        management

    --  Automated mammography reporting including dictation and voice
        recognition

    --  Easier image storage and archiving within an existing DR
        Systems RIS/PACS infrastructure

    --  Distribution of images and reports via CDs, over the Internet
        or Web for remote viewing with other physicians

    --  Display of images produced by DICOM CAD systems
