DR Systems PACS Sites Among Nation's ``Most Wired''.

SAN DIEGO -- Leading health systems that utilize a DR Systems PACS are among the nation's "most wired hospitals," according to a report released this month by Hospitals & Health Networks, the official publication of the American Hospital Association.

On the magazine's list of the "Most Wired Hospitals and Health Systems" are Bridgeport Hospital (Bridgeport, Conn.), Crozer-Keystone Health System (Springfield, Pa.), Jewish Hospital (Louisville, Ky.), St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (Boise, Idaho), and Scripps Health (San Diego, Calif.). All five use DR Systems' PACS technology.

Another DR Systems site, George Washington University Hospital (Washington, D.C.) is on the magazine's technologically "most improved." Beaufort Memorial Hospital (Beaufort, S.C.), also a DR Systems site, is honored among the "most wired small and rural" hospitals.

Technological sophistication correlates with better patient outcomes, according to an analysis performed for Hospitals & Health Executives by Solucient.

The outcomes analysis showed that on average, risk-adjusted mortality rates for hospitals on the Most Wired list are 7.2% lower than they are at other, less sophisticated hospitals.
