DR, Cuba begin trade talks.


The DR and Cuba Cuba (ky`bə, Span. k`bä), officially Republic of Cuba, republic (2005 est. pop.  began negotiations to formalize a free trade agreement, reports Hoy Hoy, island, 13 mi (21 km) long and 6 mi (9.7 km) wide, off N Scotland, second largest of the Orkney Islands. It is located at the southwestern side of the Scapa Flow anchorage.  (July July: see month.  10, 2007). Bertha ber·tha

 Verdura, in charge of commercial affairs at the Cuban Embassy, spoke to the press during the visit of a 36-company strong trade mission from Cuba. The trade exhibit took place through 13 July at the Dominican Fiesta Hotel. Verdura said that in the first quarter of this year trade between both nations is up 32%. She highlighted the "excellent ties" between both nations and the fact that 500 Dominicans are currently studying in Cuba.
