DPS emerge champions Delhi Private School win basketball championship.


Sharjah: Delhi Private School defeated the New Indian Model School (NIMS NIMS National Incident Management System (US Department of Homeland Security)

) 64-31 to clinch the 19th NIMS Trophy title for seniors in an inter-school basketball tournament.

The tournament was organised by the hosts who lost to DPS Minicomputer series from Bull HN.

DPS continued their domination of the senior basketball tournament with an overwhelming victory against their opponents.

In the NIMS finals, they established a sound 26-11 lead in the first quarter itself. They never looked back. Sidheek Razak, who had been selected as the best player of the tournament, stood tall and collected the rebounds while scoring 18 points.

NIMS countered through Jaseem Moidu and Mohd. Jashir, who scored 12 and nine points respectively.

In the NIMS Mini tournament, the finals were a classic event between Emirates National School (ENS) and Our Own High School.

ENS led the first quarter 11-8 against their opponents.

After a low scoring second quarter, ENS dominated the third and fourth quarter. The final score was 29-20.

DPS' Sidheek Razak got the Best Player of the Tournament award, while Mohd Jashir of NIMS was voted the most promising player.
