DPEC first to offer computer-based training on intranets and the Internet.

COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 9, 1996--Internet training is now a reality!

DPEC DPEC Drug Policy Expert Committee (Australia)
DPEC Directive on Privacy and Electronic Communications (European Union)
DPEC Dairy Process Engineering Centre (Australia)
has developed an interactive computer-based training See CBT.

(application) Computer-Based Training - (CBT) Training (of humans) done by interaction with a computer. The programs and data used in CBT are known as "courseware."

CBT programs are called "courseware" and provide interactive training sessions for all disciplines. ) solution to be delivered through Internet browsers See Web browser.  on web server-based intranets, the Internet, Novell NetWare (operating system, networking) Novell NetWare - Novell, Inc.'s proprietary networking operating system for the IBM PC.

local area networks and compact discs. Courses cover both client/server and mainframe topics.

Unlike other CBT, which must be downloaded before delivery, each DPEC course page is delivered to the user as the user progresses. Presenting course pages in this manner prevents user's hard drives from becoming filled with files that must be deleted later.

Carol Clark, DPEC's president, said, "Our customers are implementing web server-based intranets almost daily. Many of them, however, will continue to have Novell NetWare local area networks for years to come. They asked us for a consistent, easy-to-learn user interface to navigate through courses anywhere at any time. The best solution was to provide Internet browser access to our courses."

Internet browser access for DPEC client/server and mainframe courses will be available for shipment in November 1996.

Since 1981, DPEC has been a leading provider of computer-based training solutions for IS professionals and end users within Fortune 1000 companies.
