DPAC Technologies (Nasdaq:DPAC) today announced the availability of AirborneDirect(TM) Ethernet, the third product in the family of DPAC Technologies Airborne 802.11b Wireless Product Line. AirborneDirect Ethernet is an industrial "plug and play" Wi-Fi Solution designed for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Value Added Resellers (VARs), and Systems Integrators. Like the AirborneDirect Serial Product announced two weeks ago, the AirborneDirect Ethernet product also utilizes the Airborne Wireless LAN Node Module, further leveraging DPAC's Airborne 802.11b "wireless engine."

"AirborneDirect Ethernet enables plug and play wireless LAN and Internet connectivity with equipment, devices and instruments that have a 10BaseT Ethernet port," said Brett Trowbridge, vice president of DPAC. "OEMs will now be able to instantly offer their customers wireless access to currently selling industrial equipment or any installed base industrial equipment with an Ethernet port. VARs and System integrators will also be able to offer the same wireless access capabilities to their Industrial customers."

An independent study by ARC Advisory Group, published by Control Engineering Magazine, reported that shipments of industrial Ethernet device-level products (IEDs) grew at a rate of almost 60%, from 2000 to 2002. Shipments of IEDs for 2007 have been forecasted at over 6 million nodes as companies forge ahead with factory automation.

The Airborne Product Line is a family of Industrial 802.11b Wireless Networking Products for providing LAN and Internet connectivity to instrumentation, process control, automotive, and medical, and other industrial equipment. The AirborneDirect Serial and Ethernet Products are 802.11b wireless LAN bridges designed specifically to provide instantaneous "plug and play" wireless network access to equipment that has a serial or Ethernet interface. The AirborneDirect Products utilize the Airborne 802.11b Wireless LAN Node Module as the 802.11b "wireless engine."

"AirborneDirect Ethernet is a great addition to our Airborne Product Line. It provides our OEM customers with a path to provide instantaneous wireless access to their Ethernet enabled equipment," said Kim Early, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
