DP&L Crews to Assist Midwest Restoration Efforts.

DAYTON, Ohio -- The Dayton Power and Light Company (DP&L), the principal subsidiary of DPL Inc. (NYSE:DPL), has sent 19 employees to assist with restoration efforts in the aftermath of devastating ice storms that recently hit the Midwest.

The DP&L linemen and support personnel will be working in the St. Joseph, Missouri area, just north of Kansas City. According to reports yesterday, 30,000 customers in St. Joseph and 460,000 customers throughout the Oklahoma-Kansas-Missouri region were without power.

"Utilities have a strong tradition of providing operational support to one another in situations like this," said Scott Kelly, DP&L Senior Vice President of Service Operations. "Our crews take great pride in their abilities to get the lights back on, and I'm sure their efforts will be greatly appreciated."

In addition, DP&L is making available more than 70 line clearance and line construction workers, normally under contract to DP&L, to help clear downed trees and repair damaged lines.
