DP&L, Vandalia Announce Economic Development Partnership.


VANDALIA Vandalia (văndā`lyə), city (1990 pop. 13,882), Montgomery co., W central Ohio, a suburb of Dayton; inc. 1848. The initial effort, kicked off today, will be a two-month program exploring the needs of existing Vandalia-Butler service and retail companies. During this time, a team of volunteers will interview more than 35 business leaders to learn what can be done at a local level to encourage the retention and expansion of area businesses and quality jobs. A similar study was conducted of Vandalia area manufacturing businesses two years ago.

It has automobile and aircraft industries and other varied manufactures.  Games, Englewood/Vandalia Customer Service Manager with Dayton Power and Light, will co-chair the program. The volunteer team will consist of area officials, local leaders and DP&L representatives. The team will survey the business leaders to determine what the community can do to enhance a local environment that will encourage existing businesses to expand and new businesses to invest in the region. The interviews will be conducted through the end of September September: see month. .

DP&L's retention and expansion program is just one of the many economic development programs that DP&L offers. Others include DP&L's Partners In Business Plus Growth Incentive Program and the company's sponsorship of the NationJob Network.
