DOZEN MEN SOUGHT IN 2 T.O. ASSAULTS.

Ventura County sheriff's investigators are seeking a dozen men in connection with two unrelated assaults that occurred in Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  over the weekend.

Two men reported being attacked about 2 a.m. Sunday by a group of skinheads Noun 1. skinheads - a youth subculture that appeared first in England in the late 1960s as a working-class reaction to the hippies; hair was cropped close to the scalp; wore work-shirts and short jeans (supported by suspenders) and heavy red boots; involved in attacks  outside a party at a Bedford Place home. The two told sheriff's deputies that eight men attacked them outside the house.

Victim Stephen Bayer, 36, of Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  told investigators he was stabbed several times as he returned to the party after buying liquor, according to the sheriff's report. The second victim was Christopher Riggs, 20, of Agoura, who was at the party and came outside to help Bayer. Riggs was hit over the head with a bottle and was unconscious when authorities arrived.

Both men were treated at Los Robles Robles is a common surname in the Spanish language meaning oaks, and may refer to:
  • Alfonso GarcĂ­a Robles (1911-1991), Mexican diplomat and politician
  • Aurora Robles (born 1980), Mexican fashion model
  • Charlie Robles (born 1943), Puerto Rican musician

On Saturday, a 19-year-old Thousand Oaks youth reported being attacked by four Latinos in the parking lot of the Albertson's Food and Drug Store in the 1700 block of Avenida de los Arboles.

Sheriff's officials said the victim, Daniel Vadnais, was attacked after buying cigarettes about 10:45 p.m. Vadnais told investigators the men wanted to know what gang he belonged to and they attacked him when he said he didn't belong to a gang.

Vadnais was treated at Los Robles for cuts, including a puncture wound under his chin and a puncture wound on his back. He was released from the medical center following treatment.
