On Saturday, a 19-year-old Thousand Oaks youth reported being attacked by four Latinos in the parking lot of the Albertson's Food and Drug Store in the 1700 block of Avenida de los Arboles. Sheriff's officials said the victim, Daniel Vadnais, was attacked after buying cigarettes about 10:45 p.m. Vadnais told investigators the men wanted to know what gang he belonged to and they attacked him when he said he didn't belong to a gang. Vadnais was treated at Los Robles for cuts, including a puncture wound under his chin and a puncture wound on his back. He was released from the medical center following treatment.
