Byline: Gideon Rubin Staff Writer

LANCASTER - What a difference a year makes.

The last time the JetHawks hosted the San Bernardino San Bernardino, city, United States

Stampede, the teams were playing in the decisive fifth game of the California League The California League is a minor league baseball league which operates throughout the state of California. Before 2002, it was classified as a "High-A" league, indicating its status as a Class A league with the highest level of competition within that classification, and the fifth  Southern Division championship series.

But that was then.

The league's elite teams of a year ago are now under new affiliates and locked in a battle for the bottom of Southern Division.

The slumping JetHawks moved closer to last place as a result of a 10-inning 6-3 loss to the Stampede before 1,754 at Lancaster Municipal Stadium.

The JetHawks (27-30), who've lost 10 of their last 14, are two games ahead of last place San Bernardino (25-33).

San Bernardino won with three runs in the 10th off JetHawks reliever Daniel Castillo (1-2).

--Roster moves: Utility man Rico Montas was sent to Double-A El Paso El Paso (ĕl pă`sō), city (1990 pop. 515,342), seat of El Paso co., extreme W Tex., on the Rio Grande opposite Juárez, Mex.; inc. 1873. . Replacing him on the JetHawks roster will be infielder Joe Yakopich.

--Matchup: Right-hander Tanner Eriksen (3-3, 4.35 ERA) will pitch for the JetHawks when they meet San Bernardino in the second of a four-game series at 7:15 tonight. Left-hander Matt Thornton (6-3, 2.82) will pitch for the visiting Stampede.
