DOWNEY ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING.
Robert Downey Jr. was cited Wednesday for trespassing and being under the influence of a controlled substance after he allegedly broke into a neighbor's home and passed out in a child's bed.
The Tuesday night arrest at a home on exclusive Broad Beach Road came just hours after authorities filed drug and weapons charges against the 31-year-old actor in connection with a June 23 arrest.
The alleged break-in occurred at the home of Lisa Curtis, who said she was putting her kids to bed when she discovered a man in a bedroom, covered with a quilt.
``He seems to have passed out in my child's bed,'' Curtis said in a call to 911. Authorities released a recording of the call Wednesday.
``We kind of shook him and he would moan and kind of talk but he seems to just go right back to sleep,'' Curtis told the 911 operator. She said she did not recognize the man.
Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies who responded to the call realized the man was Downey and had him taken to Santa Monica Hospital Medical Center where he was revived.
Downey, who received an Oscar nomination for the 1992 film ``Chaplin,'' was transferred to the jail ward at Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center where he spent the night.
Downey left the jail ward Wednesday morning with a white T-shirt over his head and a cigarette dangling from his lip.
Before his release, he was cited for trespassing and being under the influence of a controlled substance, and was ordered to appear for arraignment Aug. 30 in Malibu Municipal Court.
Curtis said she believed Downey entered her home through the front gate and front door, which she said she leaves open from time to time to enjoy the ocean breeze.
She said the incident frightened her children.
``They don't feel as secure knowing that someone can walk in and climb into bed,'' Curtis said.
Downey faces a July 26 arraignment on charges stemming from his June arrest in which officers allegedly found small amounts of crack and powder cocaine, tar heroin and a concealed .357-caliber Magnum in his vehicle.
