DOW TO REDEEM BONDS IN ADVANCE

 MIDLAND, Mich., Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) has announced that the company elects to redeem in advance its 7 percent Japanese yen bonds due in 1994. The early redemption will begin Feb. 12, 1993. Payment will be 100.25 percent of their principal amount together with unpaid interest accrued and unpaid to that date, with this amount being an aggregate of yen 507,764 for each bond of yen 500,000.
 Bonds together with all the unmatured coupons should be presented for payment to the specified office of any of the paying agents listed on the reverse side of the bond. Bank of Tokyo, Ltd., is the principal paying agent. After Feb. 12, 1993, the bonds will no longer be outstanding and interest shall cease to accrue.
