DOUGHERTY TO GUIDE BUCKLEY.


The Buckley School, a private college-preparatory school in Sherman Oaks, has appointed Larry W. Dougherty as its new head of school, effective July 1. Dougherty is now the head of the American Overseas School of Rome The American Overseas School of Rome is a school for English-speaking students in grades kindergarten through 12, although Italian students wanting to attend higher education in their country need to take an additional 13th year, serving the international community in Rome, Italy. .

Dougherty will be responsible for the school's overall curriculum and education programs. He will also spearhead the school's expansion efforts.

Before going to Rome, Dougherty served as headmaster of Garland County Day School in Denver, and as superintendent of schools in Fairfield, Conn. He holds a doctorate in education from Harvard University Harvard University, mainly at Cambridge, Mass., including Harvard College, the oldest American college. Harvard College

The sponsors hold these events at local parks three times a year, and each player gets a medal and a pin for participating.
