 DOUG COLLINS NAMED PRESIDENT OF DAYS INNS OF AMERICA
 PARSIPPANY, N.J., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Hospitality Franchise


Systems has appointed Doug Collins to the position of president of Days Inns of America. He will oversee the third largest hotel brand in the world and the fastest growing in the moderate price segment of the market. An international lodging operator and franchisor, the chain has more than 1,250 hotels.
 "Doug is the perfect choice for this position," said John Snodgrass, immediate past president of Days Inns and president and chief operating officer of Hospitality Franchise Systems, the new parent company of Days Inns. "He is sincere, diligent and extremely knowledgeable about our system and the industry. Having worked with Doug over the last few years, I know that he truly cares about the needs of the Days Inn franchise community."
 Formerly employed as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Days Inns, Collins has extensive experience working with the Days Inns system. In that position, he also served as a member of the company's operating committee. Prior to joining Days Inns, he held the position of president and other executive positions during his ten years with Imperial Hotels, a hotel chain of more than 50 properties in 28 states.
 "We feel that Doug's knowledge of Days Inns and his commitment to the chain most closely meets the needs of the Days Inns system," said Bill Hodges, chairman of the Days Inn Franchise Advisory Committee. "He will provide Days Inns with insightful, dynamic leadership."
 A native of Norwalk, Conn., Collins received a Business Administration degree from Georgetown University, an MBA from George Washington University and is a Certified Public Accountant. As a former adjunct professor, he has taught courses in business administration, finance and accounting at Southeastern University and Virginia Community College. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and four children.
 Hospitality Franchise Systems, Inc., is the franchisor of the Days Inn, Ramada and Howard Johnson hotel brands. With the recent acquisition of Days Inns bringing the total number of franchised properties to over 2,300, the company is now the largest hotel franchisor in the world.
