CONFUSION surrounds the eligibility of four Skonto Riga players ahead of tonight's Europa League clash with Derry City.

The four - all non-EU nationals - were apparently refused visas by the British embassy in Latvia.

But they still travelled to Dublin yesterday where the squad then journeyed to Dublin on bus.

Skonto's English manager Paul Ashworth played down the dilemma yesterday, claiming there were "no problems" regarding visas.

The match is currently tied at 1-1 following last week's away leg and it would be a huge boost to Derry if the quartet are ruled out.
