Scott Strickland kept the RedHawks off the scoreboard in the ninth. Henry Bonilla could not do the same in the 10th.

Steven Murphy and Julio Borbon sandwiched doubles around Joaquin Arias' sacrifice bunt off Bonilla, with Murphy scoring. After Casey Benjamin walked, Bonilla uncorked a wild pitch that allowed Borbon to score. Esteban German doubled home Benjamin to cap the rally.

Warner Madrigal madrigal, name for two different forms of Italian music, one related to the poetic madrigal in the 14th cent., the other the most common form of secular vocal music in the 16th cent.  retired the Isotopes in order in the 10th to earn his first victory. Madrigal (1-0) work two perfect innings, striking out three. Bonilla (2-4) suffered the loss.

Murphy went 4-for-5 and Borbon was 3-for-5 to lead the RedHawks' hit parade. Hector Luna collected three of the Isotopes' 10 hits, while Mitch Jones slugged his 18th home run of the season, a two-run shot in the first.
