Brendan Molyneaux, 48, died after he was shot in the head while Paddy Mooney, 58, was hit in the chest when three gunmen struck. Assassins burst into the ground-floor flat at Block G, Pearse House, Pearse Street, Dublin, just before 7pm. Following the attack the men were taken to separate hospitals but both were pronounced dead within an hour.
