DON'T DESERT AFGHANS, FOR DARREN'S SAKE; Ex-wife: Allow troops to finish the job.

THE GRIEVING grieving Mourning, see there  former wife of war hero Darren Chant yesterday urged the Government not to pull our troops out of Afghanistan.

Connie Chant, 41, said that despite the mounting death toll - which now includes her former husband, the father of her three children - she wanted the fight against the Taliban to continue.

She spoke out as his family prepared to travel to RAF Lyneham RAF Lyneham (IATA: LYE, ICAO: EGDL) is a Royal Air Force station in Wiltshire, England. It is the home of all the C-130 Hercules transport aircraft of the Royal Air Force. The station is also home to No.38 Expeditionary Air Wing.  in Wiltshire today to greet his body and those of four comrades gunned down by a rogue Afghan policeman last Tuesday.

Mrs Chant, of Horndean, Hants, said: "I don't believe we should pull out, despite Darren's death. I don't want him or any others to have died in vain vain

Regimental Sergeant-Major Chant, 40, had just been commissioned to Captain when he was killed. His children with Connie are Connor, 16, Adam, 10, and Victoria, eight. Second wife Nausheen, 30, is expecting a son.
