The Dons battled traffic for close to two hours on their way from Compton and arrived at the gym 10 minutes after the Cleveland game was scheduled to start.

A combination of the long ride and the lack of preparation time made for a ragged game by both teams. Cleveland missed a number of open shots and Dominguez seemed sluggish at times.

``We warmed up for about 20 minutes and then had to sit around and wait until (Dominguez) got here,'' Cleveland coach Andre Chevalier said. ``We came out with dead legs, but you can't blame (the Dons), they were in traffic.''

Dominguez led 32-19 at halftime and then opened the second half with a 12-3 run to take a 44-22 lead.

``They're very good and very deep,'' Chevalier said. ``From one through 14 they've got great players.''

Keith Brooks led the way for the Dons with 16 points. Keith Kincade added 15.

For Cleveland, Kwan Randolph had 15 points.
