INVESTOR SPOTLIGHT

Name: Manni and Shelly Dhillon

Residence: Woodland Hills

Occupation: Accountant and cashier, respectively

Age: 42 and 36

How they got started: Before immigrating to America in 1994, Manni Dhillon started investing as an accountant in Punjab, India. After moving to this country, he didn't invest right away, preferring to watch the Dow first. But as the stock market advanced, so did his resolve. The Dhillons finally invested in stocks in early 1996, plunging into a mutual fund and buying 200 shares of Kmart at 10-7/8 and another 300 shares at 14-1/8 two months later.

Best stock pick: Intel. They hold 50 shares purchased at a split-adjusted $72.75 each. Intel closed at 93 5/16 on Friday.

Worst stock pick: Kmart, because of a small return. It closed at 14 3/16 on Friday.

Investment philosophy: ``Never pick a stock in a hurry. Also, reinvest the divident distributions.''
