Notes: This amount is calculated by subtracting the following items from gross sales: merchandise returned for credit, allowances for damaged or missing goods, freight of $110.6 million for the quarter ended September 30, 1996. This represents an increase of $43.2 million, or 64.0%, over net sales of $67.4 million during the same period last year. Year-to-date net sales increased 66.6%, from $179.0 million to $298.3 million for the nine months ended September 30, 1996. Comparable store net sales for the third quarter of 1996 increased 4.3% over the third quarter of 1995. Management reports that the integration of Dollar Bill$ is progressing as planned.
