Food Co. will outline plans tonight for a hotel and spa it wants to build near its Lindero Canyon Road headquarters. The project, which also would include a restaurant and retail facilities, would be built on half of Dole's 20-acre site, with its offices on the other half. The City Council will take public comment on the project when it meets at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 31200 Oak Crest Drive. Dole's builder, Castle and Cooke, has five possible designs, although the preferred concept calls for a seven story, 280-room hotel with a health spa and a 468-space parking garage. Currently, Westlake Village has one 150-room hotel. ``There are a lot of businesses out here,'' Theobald said. ``And this spa aspect makes it a destination in and of itself.'' Once Castle and Cooke files an application with the city, it would be four to six months before it came before the council for a vote.
