DOJ Ends Antitrust Investigation of Network Solutions.

: NSOL) today announced that the United States Department of Justice's Antitrust Division has informed the company that its antitrust investigation of Network Solutions has been formally closed.

It is headed by the Attorney General.  investigation was related to the management of the Internet's primary domain name system, and specifically relating to Network Solution's Internet registration business.

In June 1997, Network Solutions received a Civil Investigative Demand (CID Cid or Cid Campeador (sĭd, Span. thēth kämpāäthōr`) [Span.,=lord conqueror], d. 1099, Spanish soldier and national hero, whose real name was Rodrigo (or Ruy) Díaz de Vivar. ) from the Department of Justice. The CID concerned certain aspects of Network Solutions' management of the domain name system. Network Solutions supplied all requested information to the DOJ. No enforcement action was taken.
