DOING IT WHITE; Gallery flourishes with new classes and exhibitions.Byline: JULIE CHAMBERLAIN AN independently-run Warwickshire art gallery is finding new and exciting ways to beat the recession. The Our White Room Art Gallery in Rugby's Churchside Arcade arcade, series of arches supported by columns or piers. An arcade may stand free; if it is attached to a wall it is called a wall arcade or a blind arcade. The earliest-known arcades were in Roman architecture, in which piers, ornamented with engaged columns carrying is a small exhibition space showing work by local artists, with the pieces for sale. Jane Atkins, who owns the gallery with Keith Morgan Keith Morgan is a British teacher of jujutsu and founder of the Shin-Gi-Tai group of schools. He founded the Shin-Gi-Tai group of schools in 1980. The original Dojo was based in Streetly, Sutton Coldfield, and had the full backing of the British Ju jutsu Association. , said they had just taken on another space opposite, Our Evolving Room, when the recession started to hit. However, they have diversified to keep attracting new business and clients, while still showing exciting exhibitions in the gallery. They are allowing people to hire wall space to show their works and have recently shown works by Rugby landscape artist and self-taught watercolourist Roger Griffiths. His landscapes seem to fit well with Jane's own paintings, which explore the theme of water and rock pools. The space is also used to show textile and ceramic works, with one-off bags designed by textile artist Denise Stanton and glass by Ruth Lyne. Warwickshire textile artists Anne Clayton and Sue Byrne will be showing their works from September 19 to October 3. Jane and Keith have also got together with La Casa La casa (Spanish for The House) is a 1954 novel by Manuel Mujica LaĆnez. It tells the story of a family living in a stately Buenos Aires mansion from the heyday of Argentina's oligarchy in the 1880s to some time in the post-1946 period, the era of Peronist populism, Loco, a popular Mexican restaurant in the same arcade, to run children's art parties, with an all-in price for an hour of fun doing painting, collage collage (kəläzh`, kō–) [Fr.,=pasting], technique in art consisting of cutting and pasting natural or manufactured materials to a painted or unpainted surface—hence, a work of art in this medium. making and making felt hair accessories, followed by a meal upstairs.
