KEN DOHERTY believes he has got "nothing to lose" against Aussie ace Neil Robertson Neil Robertson may refer to:
  • Neil Robertson (snooker player), Australian snooker professional
  • Neil Robertson (mathematician), mathematician teaching at The Ohio State University
  • Neil Robertson (musician)
at the Glasgow Grand Prix tonight.

The former world champion has been drawn against Robertson in the last 16 stage of this season's pounds 502,100 tournament at the Kelvin Hall.

And following an impressive confidence-boosting first round victory over former Masters champion-Marl Selby, it's little surprise the Dubliner is in high spirits Adj. 1. in high spirits - happy and excited and energetic

.

"It's a tough draw, but I'm going into the match off the back of a really good win," said Doherty.

"I'm full of confidence, I can play the match without having to worry because I know things are starting to happen again for me.

"Things are looking up. I've been working hard and thankfully I'm starting to show the form I know I can produce."

Doherty beat Robertson, the world No 9, 5-4 when they met at the Shanghai Masters last month.

And the 1997 Crucible champ is confident that he can beat the three-time ranking tournament winner again.

"That was a tough match in Shanghai, but I've got a lot of confidence from the way I played," added Doherty.

"I've got some impetus behind this season and I want to carry that on. Neil's a great player, he's great for the sport, but if I play well I know I've got a good chance."
