The zoo started as Bellevue Pleasure Gardens, a public park and recreational area, in 1911 on the slopes of Cavehill. . The crazed hounds also left another young, camel-like vicuua in need of life-saving surgery - its skin ripped open from neck to stomach. Three of the dogs were caught but a fourth escaped. Rhonda Black, the zoo's marketing chief, said: "The police are worried, as it has had a taste of blood and could kill another animal, or even a person." |
