be an option. I realized there must be more people like me who felt this way. Adopted pets or not, I felt home care would be what most people preferred.

WHERE DID YOU GET THE IDEA? Animals are a passion of mine, and I realized the need for this kind of service.

HOW LONG WAS IT FROM CONCEPT TO OPENING? About three months.

WHAT DID YOU DO DURING THAT TIME? Registered business name and got bonded and insured. Word of mouth got me going. I did the sitting ``unofficially'' for about a year beforehand.

WHAT WERE YOUR STARTUP (STARTing UP) "At startup" means when the computer is first turned on or when a program is first loaded. See Startup folder.  COSTS AND HOW DID YOU FINANCE THE BUSINESS? The biggest purchase I had to make was a small SUV to accommodate more than two dogs at a time. Vehicle included, it cost about $25,000 to start.

WHO DID YOU RELY ON FOR ADVICE? Clients, family and friends. There's so much I can learn from others. They help me think and see outside of my comfort zone.

WHAT HADN'T had·n't

Contraction of had not.

YOU CONSIDERED BEFORE OPENING? How attached I'd become to the pets that I sit.

WHAT IS YOUR EXPECTED REVENUE THIS YEAR? About $12,000.

WHAT GOALS DO YOU HAVE FOR THE COMPANY? Eventually I plan to open a doggie day-care center day-care center: see day nursery. . The parents would drop the pups off before work and pick them up at the end of the day,
