Some come just to hear the awe-inspiring ``Hallelujahs.'' Others arrive with complete scores and sturdy voices.

Either way, it's almost time for one of Los Angeles' most satisfying traditions - the 22nd annual ``Messiah'' sing-along where everyone is invited to join in.

Conducted by the L.A. Master Chorale's Grant Gershon and supported by professional soloists and the Chorale's orchestra, Handel's incomparable ``Messiah'' gets a true workout Dec. 16 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion is one of the halls in the Los Angeles Music Center (which is one of the three largest performing arts centers in the United States). The Music Center's other halls include the Mark Taper Forum, Ahmanson Theatre, and Walt Disney Concert Hall. .

Other memorable events in the winter classical season include the L.A. Opera's production of the beguiling ``Tales of Hoffmann.''

Tonight

L.A. Philharmonic, ``Midori Plays Sibelius,'' Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

USC Thornton School of Music The University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, founded in 1884 and dedicated in 1999, is one of the premiere music schools in the United States. Founded only four years after the University itself, the Thornton school is the oldest continually operating arts  Wind Ensemble, ``Mozart Serenade,'' Orpheum Theater.

L.A. Chamber Orchestra, ``Celebration of Concertos,'' UCLA's Royce Hall.

Monday

``Chamber Music Concert,'' Colburn School's Zipper Concert Hall. Midori and members of the L.A. Philharmonic and American Youth Symphony play Mozart, Dvorak and Brahms.
