The Dodgers are in the hunt for a new closer because they will not pick up the option on right-hander Jeff Shaw's contract for the 2002 season, several sources said.

The Dodgers needed to decide by the end of today whether to exercise Shaw's $7.05 million option. By declining it, the Dodgers must pay him a $1.5 million buyout Buyout
