DODGERS UPDATE: BLACK TURNS DOWN DODGERS' OVERTURE.

The list of potential Dodgers managerial candidates decreased by one Tuesday when Angels pitching coach Bud Black

Harry Ralston "Bud" Black (born June 30 1957 in San Mateo, California) is a former left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball, and the current manager of the San Diego Padres.

Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti Ned Louis Colletti, Jr. is the General Manager for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Colletti graduated from East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, Illinois and Northern Illinois University. Colletti began his Major League Career in 1982 with the Chicago Cubs.

     to gauge Black's interest in the job, but the talks never reached the formal stages after Black told Stoneman he wasn't interested.

    ``Bud expressed those sentiments through (Stoneman),'' Dodgers spokesman Josh Rawitch said.

    Black has turned down managerial overtures from other teams in the past, and in each case cited family considerations for his lack of interest.

    Colletti informally contacted two other teams to determine the interest of two more candidates, but had not heard back from either team before leaving for the Bay Area on Tuesday.

      , who has 15 years of managerial experience with four clubs over his career.

      The 63-year-old Fregosi, who guided Philadelphia to the 1993 World Series, was a special assistant to the general manager in San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  when Colletti worked with the Giants.
