It has been two weeks since Mondesi made the comments and he since hasn't talked about the situation publicly. However, Mondesi and his agent, Jeff Moorad Jeff Moorad is currently the Chief Executive Officer, minority owner and managing partner of the Arizona Diamondbacks. ``I think Raul was sincere when he apologized, and he apologized on several occasions,'' Graziano said. ``I certainly can get beyond that incident because I know his apology was sincere and we all make mistakes. If you can't get beyond people's mistakes, you're never going to have stability in the organization.''

Still, Mondesi, with his $20.5 million guaranteed contract over the next two seasons, could find himself on the trading block.

Graziano acknowledged the Dodgers must make moves during the offseason, but he remained consistent with his field manager and Malone on the severity of those changes.

``We don't need to tear it down and start over,'' Graziano said. ``Obviously, changes need to be made, just from the team's performance, but it's not an issue of starting from scratch.''

No relief: After giving up two more runs in one inning and taking the loss, Pedro Borbon (3-2) might see his role as situational lefty out of the bullpen slipping away. Borbon was brilliant before the All-Star break but now is floundering.

Borbon was dominant against lefties until lately, and even so they're hitting .139 against him. But left-handed hitting Dave Nilsson's two-run double off Borbon in the seventh inning Wednesday broke a 7-7 tie.

Meanwhile, Masaoka has a 3.97 ERA. Righties are hitting .198 against him, but lefties are batting .253.

``I'm going to keep bringing (Borbon) back,'' Dodgers manager Davey Johnson said. ``As long as he's on the team, I'm going to keep throwing him out there.''

Meeting of minds: Graziano and Rick Welts, president of Fox Sports Enterprises, were in town to meet with baseball commissioner Bud Selig Allan Huber "Bud" Selig, Jr. (born July 30, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is the Commissioner of Major League Baseball (MLB). : Angel Pena, currently on the suspended list at Triple-A Albuquerque for violating teams rules, won't be a September call-up for the Dodgers. Instead, he'll head to Peoria, Ariz., and rehab his injured throwing arm in the Instructional League. Pena, the Dodgers' top prospect and one of the top catching prospects in baseball, has a strained right forearm and is expected to miss two to three weeks. . . . Lefty Carlos Perez was so impressive in his latest start for Albuquerque that he might rejoin the Dodgers during the upcoming six-game homestand. He allowed two runs on eight hits in seven innings Tuesday, and his final pitch of the game was clocked 90 mph. . . . Adrian Beltre (ankle and groin) returned after missing the last three games with injuries and went 3 for 4 with his 14th homer of the season. He was a triple shy of the cycle. . . . The five runs the Brewers scored in the sixth innings off Brown equaled the number of earned runs he allowed in his last five starts. It was also the most runs the Brewers have gotten in an inning since scoring seven July 16 against Kansas City.
