DODGERS NOTEBOOK: NOMAR GOES TO MINORS.

Nomar Garciaparra Anthony Nomar Garciaparra[1] (born July 23, 1973, in Whittier, California) is a Mexican-American baseball player who currently plays third base for the Los Angeles Dodgers.  is close to making his season debut with the Dodgers, but first he has to complete a two-game Triple-A rehab assignment before the Dodgers activate him from the disabled list.

Garciaparra and his father drove Wednesday night to Fresno, where he'll join the Triple-A Las Vegas 51s The Las Vegas 51s (formerly the Las Vegas Stars) are a minor league baseball team. They are the AAA affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. They play at Cashman Field (capacity 9,334) in Las Vegas, Nevada. The team competes in the Pacific Coast League.  for games tonight and Friday to test the right rib-cage muscle he strained the last week of spring training.

Little said to expect that this year. In fact, Little is seriously contemplating limiting Drew to 130 to 135 games to better preserve his outfielder.

Drew has a well-chronicled history of missing games because of injuries, having played as many as 145 games just once in his eight-year career. Last season, Drew was limited to 72 games because of various ailments, the worst being a fractured left wrist.
