Dodgers manager Grady Little William Grady Little (born March 30, 1950 in Abilene, Texas) is a manager in Major League Baseball. He guided the Boston Red Sox from 2002 to 2003, and has been manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers since 2006.  said before Tuesday night's series opener with San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  that he would decide on acase-by-case basis whether to pitch to Barry Bonds Barry Lamar Bonds (born July 24 1964 in Riverside, California) is a left fielder for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball. He is the son of former major league All-Star Bobby Bonds, the godson of Hall of Famer Willie Mays, and a distant cousin of Hall of Famer Reggie , who rode into town on a seven-game hitting streak In baseball, a hitting streak refers to the consecutive number of official games in which a player gets at least one base hit. Bruce Douglas Bochy (born April 16, 1955 in Landes de Boussac, France) is the manager of the San Francisco Giants.
     said it really didn't matter.

the game plan of the other ballclub," Bochy said. "I just know that if they don't pitch to him, we have to find another way to get it done. If they don't pitch to him, we have some guys who can get some runs across for us."

Third baseman Rich Aurilia, who hits in front of Bonds, came in one game removed from a career-high-tying 14-game hitting streak. Second baseman Ray Durham, who hits behind Bonds, had hit safely in 16 of 17 games this season.

So, for the Dodgers, there was a pick-your-poison aspect to facing the Giants, who scored a grand total of six runs while the Dodgers were sweeping a three-game series at AT&T Park on April 6-8.

But Bonds went 1 for 8 in that series, with what turned out to be a harmless, RBI RBI

"He naturally commands a lot of respect when he gets into the batter's box," Little said. "Those bleachers (beyond) the outfield always look a little bit closer than they do when other people are standing in the batter's box. But we'll treat each at-bat differently."

Dropping in: Dodgers reliever Yhency Brazoban (reconstructive elbow surgery) returned to Los Angeles between stops on his minor- league rehabilitation assignment, which thus far has included three appearances at high Single-A Inland Empire.

Brazoban will be examined by the team's medical staff and is expected to report to Triple-A Las Vegas in the coming days.

"I feel good," Brazoban said, with public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most  director Josh Rawitch translating. "I don't know how much longer it's going to be. I'll just keep working. It's their decision."

Rehab assignments for pitchers are a maximum 30 days.

"He is getting closer," Little said. "His velocity has been good, and that's holding up throughout his outings. We'll see where it takes us after our evaluation here."

Also: Lefty Scott Elbert, the club's top pitching prospect, missed his past start for Double-A Jacksonville after experiencing shoulder soreness following a side session. More should be known today. ... Cristine Hurley, the Dodgers' senior vice president and chief financial officer and one of the highest-ranking team officials left from the NewsCorp days, has resigned for personal reasons effective May 4. ... Lefty Hong-Chih Kuo (shoulder) will pitch his second simulated game today, after which he likely will begin a rehab assignment.
