Byline: Matt McHale Daily News Staff Writer

Timothy Wayne Belcher (Born October 19, 1961) in Mount Gilead, Ohio, is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher. He won the Sporting News Rookie Pitcher of the Year Award in 1988 for the National League.
on Saturday during a fifth-inning altercation.

Park, ejected after spiking Belcher's left thigh and bruising his left forearm, worked out before the game. He said he received a call from his 91-year-old grandfather, who told him he needed to learn to fight better. Tae Kwon Do tae kwon do

``I don't talk about any of that,'' Park said after Sunday's game. ``I guess Thursday would be my day, but I really don't have any comment.''

Perez's performance: Dodgers starter Carlos Perez (2-7) was hurt by teammates who lost the ball in the sun, but pitching coach Claude Osteen
Claude Wilson Osteen (born August 9, 1939 in Caney Spring, Tennessee) is a former left-handed starting pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for a number of teams: the Cincinnati Redlegs/Reds (1957-1961), Washington Senators (1961-1964), Los Angeles Dodgers
said he should have performed better.

Perez, who allowed nine hits and seven runs in a 7-5 loss to the Angels, gave up home runs to Troy Glaus Troy Edward Glaus (born August 3, 1976 in Tarzana, California) is a Major League Baseball player who plays third base for the Toronto Blue Jays. Previously, Glaus played with the Anaheim Angels (1998-2004) and the Arizona Diamondbacks (2005).  and Darin Erstad Darin Charles Erstad (born June 4, 1974 in Jamestown, North Dakota) is a first baseman/center fielder in Major League Baseball currently with the Chicago White Sox. Prior to 2007, he had played his entire career with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim franchise (1996-2006). . Glaus' was a three-run shot in the sixth that came off Perez's first pitch.

``Glaus had a single in the first on a 1-2 breaking ball, and Carlos didn't want to get beat on that pitch again,'' Osteen said. ``So when Glaus came up in the sixth, Carlos' first pitch was a fastball and Glaus jumped on it. He looked like he knew it was coming.

``Carlos had a couple of situations like that today. He had a better fastball than he had in Atlanta (a 2-1 win May 29), but he didn't set up hitters the way he should. It often can be the difference between winning and losing.''

Quick hits: Shortstop Mark Grudzielanek Mark James Grudzielanek (born June 30, 1970 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is a second baseman in Major League Baseball who currently plays for the Kansas City Royals. Previously, Grudzielanek played with the Montreal Expos (1995-1998), Los Angeles Dodgers (1998-2002), Chicago Cubs , who went on the DL Friday with a broken right hand, is convinced he will be back when eligible to return. Dodgers orthopedist Frank Jobe said it will take at least six weeks for the hand to mend. The injury is a fracture to the bone just beneath the right pinky. ``That is a very slow-healing area on the hand,'' Jobe said. ``There is little chance he can return sooner.'' . . . Since Grudzielanek left, his replacement Jose Vizcaino has gone 4 for 12 at the plate with a home run. . . . When Perez walked Todd Greene Todd Anthony Greene (born May 8, 1971 in Augusta, Georgia) is a catcher in Major League Baseball who is currently a free agent.
