``I don't think I'm the missing link,'' LoDuca said via telephone Sunday before making his final rehab start with Triple-A Las Vegas Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. It is the largest city in Nevada and the center of one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the United States. . ``Our goal in spring training was to do the little things. I started to try and do those things right away. Maybe we've gotten away from that a little bit.''

LoDuca said he's felt no hint of the strained left oblique that landed him on the disabled list May 1, or the strained left hamstring that kept him out of the starting lineup For the line of action figures, see .
A starting lineup in sports refers to the set of players actively participating in the event when the game begins. The players in the starting lineup are commonly referred to as starters, whereas the others are substitutes
from April 19 until the oblique injury.

He was 2 for 7 with two doubles and three RBI in his first two games with Las Vegas. LoDuca caught five innings Friday and a complete game Saturday, but with knucklerballer Dennis Springer Dennis Leroy Springer (born February 12, 1965 in Fresno, California) is a former right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball who was known for his use of the knuckleball.  pitching Sunday, Lo Duca Lo Duca is the surname of the following people:

started at first and was scheduled for five innings and three plate appearances.

``I'm really, really anxious to get to Denver,'' said LoDuca, batting .368 with two homers and eight RBI before the injuries. ``It (stinks) not being there. Not going with the team on the road, you don't feel like you're a part of the team. You watch on TV, but that's it.''

Though LoDuca doesn't believe his bat makes the Dodgers' offense click, his lumber will be welcomed because of the versatility it offers. He hits behind runners, works the count, hits the ball the other way and bunts.

Clearly, neither Pena nor Kreuter were answers in LoDuca's month-long absence. Kreuter is batting .192 since LoDuca's hamstring injury hamstring injury Sports medicine A muscle injury of biceps femoris, seen in sprinters and runners, when a contracted muscle meets a lengthening force, overpowering intrinsic muscle resiliency Management RICE, NSAIDs, gradual ↑ of pain-free activity–eg,  and Pena is batting .175. Kreuter has started 12 of the 19 games in May, but the catching corps hasn't had an RBI since May 1.

``Hopefully, it doesn't take long to get back in the flow (offensively),'' LoDuca said. ``It may take a couple of days.''

 until Sunday.

Part of the reason is the hand injury that kept Hansen out the first four weeks of the season, and another factor is the six weeks third Adrian Beltre missed. Hansen played often in his place and had just three pinch- hit at-bats before his double in the eighth inning Sunday.

Still, that doesn't explain why Dodgers' pinch-hitters are batting .136 (8 for 59) with two homers and 10 RBI this season. Among the worst when it comes to hitting off the bench are Hiram Bocachica Hiram Colon Bocachica (born March 4, 1976, in Ponce, Puerto Rico) is a Major League Baseball player, currently playing outfield for the San Diego Padres. He is 5'11" and weighs around 195 pounds.  (2 for 17) and Marquis Grissom (2 for 11), though Grissom is 2 for 2 with three RBI in his last two chances.

--Odds and ends: It was a lethargic first inning Sunday for the Dodgers, which is stunning given Tracy held a team meeting the day before. Speedy Tom Goodwin led off with a double off the top of the wall but after jogging around first had to hustle into second. And with one out, Gary Sheffield popped up to catcher Mike Piazza. Sheffield stood at home plate, apparently thinking the ball was foul, only to have it drift into fair territory. Piazza nearly collided with Sheffield before catching the ball and falling down. ... Sheffield recorded his league-leading sixth outfield assist in the eighth inning.
