``We're trying to take three out of four,'' Grissom said. ``If we take more, that's good. That's what we have to shoot for, but there's not pressure because we know what's at stake.''

The Dodgers shuffled their pitching staff two weeks so right-hander Hideo Nomo Hideo Nomo

It's going to be fun, and we need to go at it that we're at home, so we have the advantage.''

Or, at least one would think so. But the Dodgers are 44-34 on the road and just 40-31 at home. --Perez's plans: Dodgers left-hander Odalis Perez developed a small blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand, but that wasn't the reason Dodgers manager Jim Tracy pulled Perez after five innings of Saturday's start against Colorado.

The Dodgers had a big lead, and the club is concerned about the career-high 205 1/3 innings Perez has pitched this season. Tracy wanted to keep Perez fresh for his start Thursday, but the club also is trying to curtail his offseason work.

The club already asked right-hander Giovanni Carrara not to pitch in winter ball, and they've talked to Perez about the same thing. However, Perez said he will pitch in some capacity in the offseason in his native Dominican Republic. The season begins in mid-October, but Perez said he would begin pitching in December.

``If I take four months, maybe I'm going to be fine by spring training,'' Perez said. ``But having seen some of the Dominican guys who haven't pitched in winter ball because they pitched a lot of innings here, the next year they're different pitchers. It would be nice for me to go there and pitch by Dec. 1.''

Though left-hander Omar Daal isn't under contract after the season, the Dodgers also advised him to scale back his winter workload.
