On Monday, Reboulet singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 13th in the Dodgers' 3-2 victory over the Mets.

``It's a big boost,'' Kreuter said. ``Obviously, everybody's been irritated by the fact that we haven't been able to score runs for some guys that have pitched well.''

Daal has been effective whether he gets the ball as a starter, long reliever Long relievers are a type of relief pitcher in baseball. Long relievers traditionally enter early in a game (anywhere from the first inning to the fourth inning) when the starting pitcher cannot continue, whether due to ineffective pitching, lack of endurance, rain delays, injury,  or setup man. Over his last 13 1/3 innings, Daal has a 0.68 ERA with 16 strikeouts. He wants to be in the starting rotation.

``I feel good every time I pitch that we have a good chance to win, if it's a tight game or we're down by one,'' Daal said.

Brown yielded seven hits in six innings and allowed three runs (one earned), striking out five and walking none. He gave up a two-run homer to Vladimir Guerrero - his 13th of the season. Guerrero hit the 2-0 pitch an estimated 437 feet.

Marquis Grissom tied the game at 3-3 on a double to shallow left field in the seventh inning. Eric Karros singled to right before Mark Grudzielanek popped out to first. Grissom's shot hit the left-field line and bounced on the warning track.

Cesar Izturis, pinch running for Karros, scored to tie the game on Grissom's double.

``It's a question of getting it figured out and doing the things we need to do in order to give this pitching staff what it needs to win, and it doesn't need much,'' Dodgers manager Jim Tracy said.

Grudzielanek hit a solo home run to left field off Ohka's first pitch in the sixth inning. It was the first time the Dodgers homered in 39 innings.

Ohka (3-3) allowed four runs on 11 hits in 7 2/3 innings.

``Tomo pitched very well and deserved to win,'' Expos manager Frank Robinson said. ``He deserved better. You need to be rewarded when you pitch like that.''

Welcome to the world of the Dodgers' pitching staff.

Karros was hit by a pitch to reach first, Grudzielanek singled to left and Grissom used an infield single to load the bases. Then Hiram Bocachica hit into a double play and Brown struck out to end the inning.

The Dodgers never had to face Expos closer Matt Herges, who was traded from the Dodgers to the Expos in March.
