DODGERS BUST OUT OFFENSIVE OUTBURST GIVES THEM 14-2 LEAD IN EITH.

Byline: VINCENT VINCENT Vital Information Necessary Centralized (movie, The Black Hole)  BONSIGNORE Staff Writer

Dodgers manager Grady Little William Grady Little (born March 30, 1950 in Abilene, Texas) is a manager in Major League Baseball. He guided the Boston Red Sox from 2002 to 2003, and has been manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers since 2006.  is new to his team's Freeway Series The term Freeway Series refers to a series of baseball games played between Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of the American League and the Los Angeles Dodgers of the National League.  rivalry with the Angels, but having managed two years in Boston and coached in Cleveland he's got a pretty good handle on this whole Interleague thing.

Which is to say, he's got no handle at all.

In fact, Little is the first to admit he has no idea who has the ultimate advantage. With one league playing with a designated hitter designated hitter

``I still haven't been able to figure that one out,'' said Little.

The Dodgers had advantage on Friday, as they led the Angels 14-2 in the eighth inning in the first game of a three-game series at Dodger Stadium     [  this weekend. The Dodgers broke the game open with a nine-run sixth inning.  each had three hits and three RBIs through the first eight innings.

This much Little does know: Having managed in both leagues, he prefers the one where the pitcher has to hit.

``I just like the style of it a little more,'' Little said. ``That's just my personal opinion.''

It's also good to have the Aaron Sele, second-winningest pitcher in Interleague play, on the mound. And the Dodgers also were hitting against struggling Angles pitcher Jeff Weaver.

Weaver's a familiar face at Chavez Ravine, having pitched two years for the Dodgers before bolting across town to the Angels as a free agent. He never came close to making a deal with the Dodgers this winter, and was forced to accept a one-year contract with the Angels in the hope of revisiting the free agent market after the season.

The way things are going for Weaver this year, he'll need a mighty rebound for someone to give him the type of long-term, lucrative deal the Dodgers were so unwilling to give him last offseason.

The Dodgers added to Weaver's awful season, chasing him in the fifth inning after plating four runs on 11 hits. Weaver came into the game with a 1-6 r3ecord and a 7.40 ERA.

His performance was in complete contrast to Sele, who settled down after giving up a first-inning home run to Vladimir Guerrero to give the Dodgers another quality start.

Sele came into the game with an 18-8 record in Interleague play, trailing only Greg Maddux's 19-7 mark. Since getting recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas May 7th to replace Odalis Perez in the rotation, Sele's given the Dodgers three straight strong performances. In the process, he's entrenched en·trench   also in·trench

Weaver gave up single runs in four straight innings from the second through the fifth, and always seemed to be teetering on disaster.

The Dodgers broke the game open in the sixth, scoring nine runs to take a 13-2 lead. Andre Ethier had an RBI single off J.C. Romero and Martin had an RBI single to make it 9-2. Olmedo Saenz hit a liner up the first-base line for another RBI, pushing the score to 10-2.

Rafael Furcal the hit a triple to right field, scoring two more to make it 12-2.
