DODGERS BLOW OUT CANDLESTICK PARK : DODGERS 6, SAN FRANCISCO 3.

Byline: Brian Dohn Staff Writer

Maybe the key for the Dodgers is to create more turmoil. In the 18 tumultuous months of the Fox Group's unstable ownership of the club, nothing seems to make the Dodgers perform like chaos.

Five benchmark events occurred inside a season since Rupert Murdoch took over, and the Dodgers won four times. The latest was a Dodgers win at the rival Giants following Tuesday's firing of president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. He is currently Managing Director for the Western Region of Northern Trust, an investment management company. . Rick Welts, president of Fox Sports Enterprises and the man who fired Graziano, said the change in leadership had nothing to do with the Dodgers' dismal on-field performance. But many of the on-field personnel felt otherwise.

The much-hyped Dodgers, with an $80 million payroll, haven't been above .500 since they were 28-27 on June 6.

``I'm sure our performance got a lot of people fired,'' said left fielder Gary Sheffield

Right-hander Chan Ho Park was the emergency starter because Ismael Valdes returned Monday to his home near Victoria Tamps, Mexico, to be with his father, who was injured in a car accident Sunday. Dodgers manager Davey Johnson said he wasn't sure if Valdes was going to return to the club this season, but he did say lefty Jeff Williams would start the 3Com Park farewell Thursday. In his place, Park (13-10) won his career-high seventh straight decision after allowing one run in six innings. He struck out eight.

``I hope and pray (Valdes) got there and his father is OK,'' said Johnson, who was then asked about Graziano. ``Any time in this business, when things don't go well, there's going to be changes.
