DNA shows remains from pond are N.J. mom missing since June

Authorities say skeletal remains found in a pond have been confirmed as a young New Jersey mother missing for nearly a year.

The Mercer County prosecutor's office has released DNA analysis showing the remains are those of 27-year-old Amy Giordano from Hightstown, whose married lover has been charged with murder.

Authorities were led to the pond in New York last month by a friend of murder suspect Rosario DiGirolamo. DiGirolamo's attorney says his client denies any involvement in the death.

DiGirolamo pleaded guilty in November to abandoning Giordano's 11-month-old son in a Delaware hospital parking lot.

His friend has been charged with evidence tampering and pleaded not guilty.
