DMI announces DMI Cars, Inc.


IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 8, 1995--DMI Inc., a leading supplier of systems for the paperless office Long predicted, the paperless office is still a myth. Although paper usage has been reduced in some organizations, it has increased in others. Today's PCs make it easy to churn out documents.

As one technology eliminates paper, another comes along to increase usage.
, announced today that it has formed a new subsidiary called DMI (Desktop Management Interface) The first desktop management standard from the DMTF. Enabling PCs to be monitored from a central console, it was superseded by the DMTF's Common Information Model (see CIM).  Cars Inc.

DMI Cars, a Delaware company, will provide solutions to the automotive dealers throughout the world to help automate their business operations Business operations are those activities involved in the running of a business for the purpose of producing value for the stakeholders. Compare business processes. The outcome of business operations is the harvesting of value from assets  and assist them in selling more cars. DMI Cars will be owned by DMI Inc. and the employees of DMI Cars. It is anticipated that a limited number of dealers will have both ownership and influence in the future products and direction of DMI Cars.

The initial product line marketed by DMI Cars consists of products known as "DADSS DADSS Decision Analysis and Decision Support System " (Data Archiving Document Storage System) and "Sales System." These products will be licensed exclusively to DMI Cars from DMI Inc. and Advent Resources Inc. The products of DMI Cars have been installed in excess of 100 locations by their licensors, and are now poised for an aggressive marketing program aimed at the automotive dealer markets. Both systems operate on ADP (1) (Automatic Data Processing) Synonymous with data processing (DP), electronic data processing (EDP) and information processing.

As the result of a recent agreement between Data General and DMI Inc., DMI Cars will use Data General hardware and their worldwide support organization for installation, training, and support for dealer installations.

The following appointments to the company's corporate structure have been made:

o E. Al Rose as the CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  and chairman of the board o Duncan N. MacDonald as the president and a director. o Allan Bird as the senior vice president of marketing and sales and a director. He was formerly with ADP Dealer Services for over 13 years. o Mark Ross as the vice president of sales. He was a former top salesman with ADP Dealer Services. o John Boyd John Boyd may refer to:

 as the senior vice president of operations. He is a veteran of over 16 years experience in all phases of computer systems and services supplied to the automotive marketplace. He most recently has been a consultant with DMI Inc. planning for the introduction of DMI Cars.
