DIXON'S SCORING FUELS LATE RALLY : SPARKS 77, WASHINGTON 68.

Tamecka Dixon scored 20 points, including 10 straight in a critical second-half run, to lead the Sparks to a 77-68 victory over the Washington Mystics The Washington Mystics is a Women's National Basketball Association team based in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. They started play in 1998, the second year of the WNBA and are one of the WNBA's first expansion franchises.  on Wednesday night.

The Sparks (7-13) snapped a two-game losing streak after going on a 16-2 run late in the second half. Washington, which has a league-worst 2-18 record, dropped its seventh straight game.

    Dixon's 3-pointer and free throw capped a 10-point run that gave the Sparks a 60-56 lead. After Washington's Penny Moore cut the lead to two, Dixon scored three straight field goals, the final one a 17-foot jumper that made it 66-60.

    The Sparks overcame a horrible first half in which they shot 30 percent (11 of 37) and trailed 35-30.
