Divers found the body about 2 p.m. near the entrance to Posey Canyon Cove in water that is about 40 feet deep, officials said.

A positive identification and official cause of death are expected to be disclosed by the coroner sometime today or Thursday, said Deputy Benita Nichol of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Moore was presumed to have drowned Saturday after falling overboard about 2:40 p.m. near the dam on the south end of the lake. He was not wearing a life preserver life preserver, a personal flotation device (PFD) intended to keep the wearer afloat, particularly in case of shipwreck. The boat's operator told police that Moore may have been hit by the moving boat when he fell.

On duty at the time was a scuba-certified sheriff's deputy, who immediately began an underwater search, Nichol said. Other divers from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the Santa Clarita Search and Rescue Team joined in the search until 6:20 p.m. Saturday.

Probing through waters as deep as 118 feet, divers searched again from 9:30 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m. Sunday, and returned at 9 a.m. Monday and conducted a seven-hour search, officials said.

``We believe it's him,'' Nichols said.
