DIV. XI: OAKS CHRISTIAN REPEATS AS CHAMP OAK PARK LOSES AGAIN AS RIVAL FINISHES YEAR 14-0 OAKS CHR. 39, OAK PARK 21.

Byline: Dave Shelburne Staff Writer

The season scoring leader was sidelined with an ankle injury, and Oaks Christian was trailing at halftime for the first time all season.

No problem, it turned out, for the top-seeded team in the Southern Section Div. XI playoffs.

Sophomore Jimmy Clausen James Richard "Jimmy" Clausen (born September 21, 1987, in Thousand Oaks, California[3]) is an American football player. He is a quarterback at the University of Notre Dame.  passed for 172 yards and three touchdowns in the second half as the Lions of Westlake Village beat Tri-Valley League rival Oak Park 39-21 to complete a 14-0 season.

It was the second consecutive championship game between the teams, and Saturday night at Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  High, Oaks Christian won for a second consecutive time.

Clausen finished with 222 yards passing, throwing two second-half touchdown passes to Aaron Ware, who went 60 yards for one score and took a short forward lateral A "forward lateral" is a term, used in both American and Canadian Football, to describe an illegal pass. Tyler sprained his left ankle and had to be carried off the field shortly after scoring his 28th touchdown of the season on a 10-yard run.

His score and a 60-yard interception return by Marshall Jones on the fifth play of the game staked Oaks Christian to a quick 14-0 lead.

But Oak Park (12-2) countered with two long scoring drives to tie it 14-14, and after Jones followed with a 59-yard touchdown run on a reverse, Oak Park added a third second-quarter touchdown to take its one-point halftime lead.

``We weren't worried when we got down 14-0 because we knew we could move the ball on them,'' Oak Park coach Dick Billingsley said. ``And we played pretty good defense, too, except for their one big run (by Jones). Their speed hurt us some.''

Oak Park thrived early, thanks to the running and passing of option quarterback Doug Deakin, who finished with 199 yards total offense. Many of his pitches went to halfback half·back
