Byline: Erik Boal Special to the Daily News

CYPRESS - For a school less than five years old, Oaks Christian High of Westlake Village has already become a seasoned veteran when it comes to winning Southern Section titles.

The latest sport to add a championship plaque to the school's trophy case was the Lions' boys' volleyball volleyball, outdoor or indoor ball and net game played on a level court. An upright net, 3 ft (or 1 m) high, the top of which stands 8 ft (2.43 m) from the ground for men, 7 ft 4 1/8 in (2.  team, which needed only 70 minutes to dispatch second-seeded South Pasadena South Pasadena (păs'ədē`nə), city (1990 pop. 23,936), Los Angeles co., S Calif., a residential suburb of Los Angeles; inc. 1888. Oaks Christian (28-1), the division's top seed, was making its first appearance in a title match after losing to eventual champion Mayfair of Lakewood in last season's semifinals. South Pasadena (22-6) was making its first appearance in a division final in 22 years.

Judging by Oaks Christian's roster - which features only three seniors - and its convincing performance Saturday, the Lions probably won't have to wait that long to make a return trip.

``When I started out as a freshman, I had no idea we'd able to do this so fast,'' said junior Alex Walker Alex Walker (born 25 April 1984 in Bellshill) is a Scottish professional footballer. He currently plays for Scottish Football League club Greenock Morton as a midfielder.

Before joining Morton he played for Clyde and Rangers.
, who had five kills and 18 digs. ``I still can't believe this. The way this team came together and being able to win this title makes everything complete.''

After not trailing in the first two games, the Lions - who became the school's fourth team this year to win or share a Southern Section title, along with football, girls' soccer and boys' swimming and diving - fell behind 14-10 in the third. But Oaks Christian, which didn't drop a game in four postseason matches, went on a seven-point run to regain control.

``We hadn't gone five games all year, and this wasn't going to be the exception,'' said senior Brandon Denham, who had 28 assists, with junior Brendan Skinner Skin·ner , B(urrhus) F(rederick) 1904-1990.

``We learned that nobody's going to hand us the (title), that we had to come out and play hard every match,'' Hees said. ``Once the playoffs hit, they were very focused.''
