Byline: Daily News

Alicia Lewsadder's debut at the Southern Section Div. III girls' swimming final helped Camarillo's seniors enjoy their best finish of their careers.

The freshman took third in the 50-yard freestyle (24.63) and the 100 butterfly (58.86), in addition to anchoring the Scorpions' 200 and 400 freestyle relays, as Camarillo took fourth with 169 points at Mt. SAC.

Valerie Thorp, one of two seniors competing Saturday for Camarillo, finished fourth in the 100 backstroke (1:00.67) and freshman teammate Kaleigh Smith was eighth (1:02.86).

The Scorpions accumulated the bulk of their points by finishing in the top six in all three relays. Camarillo was sixth in the 400 free relay (3:47.25) and placed fifth in the 200 medley relay (1:57.61) and 200 free relay (1:43.39).

Rio Mesa of Oxnard took 12th with 86 points, bolstered by Kayleigh Jeffrey taking seventh in the 200 free (2:00.83) and McCardell finishing seventh in the 100 butterfly (1:00.28).
