The kick that wasn't meant to be a shot ended up being the most valuable one of the game. An attempted pass by Shelly Durando found its way into the net and earned the Hart High girls' soccer team a spot in the Southern Section semifinals for a third straight year.

Durando's goal with less than two minutes remaining was the only one in Thursday's Division II quarterfinal quar·ter·fi·nal

Durando received the ball amid a cluster of players in front of the goal following a Hart throw-in. Her kick went up and around Warriors goalkeeper Clair Connor.

``I asked them for heart at the beginning of the game,'' Hansen said. ``I asked them to give it everything they had. They poured their heart and soul out there on the field. They gave it everything on the field, that's all I can ask for. The scoreboard is unlucky and a bummer bum·mer
